"Uncertainty" Original poured painting on 8x10 140 lb watercolor paper. This painting will fit a ready made 8x10 frame, or may be matted and framed to a larger size. I wanted to do a piece in summer colors as it was 65 here yesterday, and felt even warmer. Snow, however, is forecasted for tomorrow. That's Colorado weather. I could not get the paint to move the way I wanted to in this sky!! I wanted a smooth horizontal right hand flowing sky, which I got on the bottom, but then it started going vertical on me. It's interesting though, that my life is exactly that at this time....things that are sometimes a challenge are going smoothly...yet there are new, fairly significant crisis' emerging all around me, "going vertical"!! "Praise In The Storm" Original 8x10 on 140 lb watercolor paper.
The sacrifice of praise is a phrase that we as believers are very familiar with.
We believe in it, know it is right, but boy is it hard to live. This painting perfectly depicts my current battle. The darkness below, the center that looks as if it's boiling....threatening something even worse, but then you look further up, and see beauty. Colors of peace and promise, with a splash of vibrant, almost electric color running through the center, reminding me that no matter what the current "storm" is, God is still in control. A wonderful musician Scott Krippane (not sure I spelled it right)has a song I love that says "sometimes HE calms the storm, and other times He calms His child". Either way,HE is what we hold on to..HE never changes.
