DAY 3 IN ITALY.....Moving from Florence to Cortona!!

Our last day in Florence we went to the Peggy Guggenheim's traveling exhibit "Kandinsky to Pollock" at the Palazzo Strozzi. It was AMAZING!!! And the headphones make all the difference...hearing the stories around and history of the pieces.
No photos allowed, of course, but here is the brochure....giggle!

We saw this exhibit, then checked out of Hotel Boccaccio and the van picked us up to head to Cortona. It was a little sad to say goodbye to Florence, but I knew we would be back at the end of the trip, and CORTONA is what I was most looking forward to.

"Under The Tuscan Sun" is my "go to"movie, I can probably almost quote it word for word.
It was filmed in the town of Cortona!!

Coming up the hill into Cortona.

Hotel San Luca in Cortona was darling, with a big balcony off of the dining room that had a gorgeous view.

This is Penelope Chandra-Shekar, one of many absolutely beautiful artists I met on this trip.
She and her hubby Slim are wonderful and I hope to visit them in California soon.

Views from the balcony of my room.

We checked in and had a little time to walk through part of the town before dinner.

Dinner in Cortona night 1, Gorgeous restaurant......and the beginning of  amazingly creative and delicious 4 & 5 course meals
with the most wonderful group of people I have ever been a part of!!
Fortunately, the serving sizes in Italy are a fraction of what they are in the U.S.

That was day 1 in Cortona, which was really a 1/2 day!!
The best part of this day was meeting the rest of the artists in our group.
I knew by the end of dinner that we would be a group that clicked really well!!
