"Bladeworks #153-Coastal Abstract" was my painting for Day #17 in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge I am doing with fellow artist Leslie Saeta.
So here is my theme for the challenge this year......This past year I redecorated my dining room, and collected artwork in various styles by my favorite artists from around the world, but all in a similar color palette and the result was lovely.
Actually, it all began with a beautiful painting of a woman in a cafe that I purchased in Cortona, Italy, which became the focal point of the room.
I also collected two still life pieces, an impressionist landscape, a floral piece, and an abstract expressionism piece, all in a similar palette.
That is my inspiration for this challenge. Each week, I will choose a new palette and complete 7 paintings within that palette.
I will try to create pieces that would exhibit beautifully together , but can also stand alone.
We shall see what shows up!!
