Today I thought I would share some photos of my new little Oil Painting Studio!!
I have a studio in Denver across from my gallery where I do my "poured" work, and a large studio in the basement of my home where I do large palette knife and mixed media pieces.
I taught kiddos from that studio for seventeen years!!
( I booted those sweet kiddos out 2 years ago!)
Recently I took over one of my spare bedrooms to use as a dedicated studio for oils.
(the joys of being an empty nester- 5 bedrooms to make use of!!)
Yes, I feel like the luckiest of girls to have three separate dedicated painting spaces!!
About a year ago, my heart strings were being pulled back into oil painting.
I actually began my painting journey as an oil painter, but quickly moved into mixed media and pouring.
In July I signed up for Nancy Medina's e-course, to escort me back into oil painting, and give me a more solid foundation.
Though I am way behind in actually completing the modules ( no worries, I have them for an entire year!) I am having a blast. I have actually watched every video multiple times, to keep myself inspired until I can get back to it.
Right now I am busy with poured and mixed media pieces for two upcoming shows.
Nancy is an AMAZING teacher, and the quality of this class is unlike and I have seen to date.
The videography if FABULOUS!!
Nancy is incredibly generous with her info, holding nothing back, from her exact brushes and closeups of her brushstrokes, to the sharing of her palette.
She will be launching a new e-course soon!

So...below are a few photos of my special new place, complete with a Nancy Medina painting on the wall for inspiration:) This is my current "Happy Room" in the house.
Even if I don't have time to paint, sometimes I just sit in there with a book for a few minutes and inhale deeply--YES... I LOVE the smell of oil paint!
I Love my blue glass jar from Home Goods as a trash can!
A Closer Look
A Broader Look- I HATE cords showing - ugh but no way to hide them
Yes there's a bed for my furry babies....they are never far away from Mommy!
I love my mirrored table for my palette, I borrowed this idea from artist Dreama Tolle Perry, another amazing oil painter I am itching to study with, who just launched her new e-course! http://dreamatolleperry.com
A little slice of Nancy Medina inspiration!
Thanks for letting me share!!
Be Inspired:)
