I was originally a bit disconcerted when the black paint in the middle of this piece did not seem to be spreading across the horizon line, as the oranges and yellow are so vibrant and rich..I felt I needed the dark contrast....but decided to leave it...as the paint often continues to move. When I entered the studio to see what evolved...the first thing I saw was the shadow of an eagle in flight right in the spot I was concerned about..so glad it did NOT continue to spread.....I LOVE how POURED PAINTINGS tell their own story....this is what is so thrilling to me about "pouring".
It is varnished with a thick coat of soluvar gloss, which creates a beautiful rich finish on top of the metallic paints.
