Okay....semi back on track today, drank plenty and got in a 60 minute power walk....did NOT eat enough though...was really busy, and it's sooo hard to eat when it is this hot. My car said 103 today when I was driving home from the city.
Bad start...nothing until 1:00 p.m when I had a venti iced coffee between stops...
Also a 20 oz bottle of water..on the road
4:30 p.m. a pepperoni stick...at my desk...more water
5:30 p.m. 5 oz Greek nonfat plain yogurt at my desk......16 oz water
8:30 p.m. Big piece of baked tilapia...16 oz water
10:00 p.m. 60 min power walk
11:11 p.m. ...Which is NOW....i am on my second 20 oz glass of water in 10 minutes
Did NOT sleep again last night...less than 3 hours....son # 2 was working out of town..a night painting job and he didn't finish until 4:30 a.m. so I was worried about him making that 45 min drive home ...he arrived about 5:20 this morning...he is on the same site tonight.. it is a job that I have been doing periodically over the past year..painting overnight for a contractor friend who renovates retail spaces,we have to paint beginning at 10:00 p.m. when the store closes and we usually paint until 5:30. a.m. The murals are usually high so we paint on lifts. I have done several stores..some 5 nights in a row..arriving home at 6:30 a.m. sleeping for a few hours then starting my day job...(the last one about killed me...I am too old for that kind of work)..I was actually called for the job yesterday and did not feel up to it..this one especially is a 15 foot mountain scene...and I as you know, just finished steroids and treatment for my shoulder again....so Son # 2 took the job. He is almost 20 young and strong...in much better shape than me...but as a Mommy I feel I should be the one working all night ..not him......he has a daytime painting job as well....but our friend was in a bind, behind deadline...so ...well...anyhow...I doubt I will sleep soundly tonight...until he is home....It is funny, because of course they stay out all night when they are away at college doing gosh knows what...and I pray for them and go to sleep..but when they are back at home..and we KNOW they are out....and that they are coming back,,we stay awake.....why do we do that????? Summer is a killer because they are all home.,and out so late. They all
( the three younger ones) paint houses full time..they have to be on the job site by 7:00 a.m....sometimes close by, sometimes an hour away...so they get up really early...yet are up late.....oh my.......who do they sound like?????? No...I think they are typical teenagers!!! And..they make up for it sleeping half the day on the weekends....
I had an appointment to hang art in a new gallery in Denver today at 11:00.a.m So I did not get to go to church....I have not been for 2 months..since Mom left...I hate going alone...but am missing it so much...next week I will go....I was so happy when Mom moved in and I didn't have to go alone.
This week I will really work on the "BALANCE" thing....
Many of you have emailed that you are worried about my schedule...I know I am out of balance...I confessed that to all of you at the beginning of the CLUB 47 Challenge...and promised to be honest.....even when I'm failing...but I will try harder this week...I will try to have down time ( besides my prayer time)which is also draining sometimes. Some days I am "filled up" after my time with the Lord, but other times I confess I feel more drained... there are so many people in my life right now that are very sick and hurting, and though I consider it a priveledge to go before the Lord and pray for them...my heart is so grieved for them..often my prayer time is filled with weeping....I am rambling....Yes I am exhausted tonight...maybe I will curl up in my chair and NOT talk to God, but just try to still my mind and listen. Hugs to you my friends....and thank you for your precious
words of love and support.

Yesterday we lost internet again....so this is yesterday's painting. By the time i finished it, the internet was down.We had the cable guy out a week or so ago, and he split off our things saying it would improve, but it has been worse, with my computer being the farthest from the box now that he moved it...and running excessively slow....hen yesterday he wireless went completely off....I am on my laptop in the kitchen...hubby got a 50 foot chord that is running over the fridge and into the laundry room where the box now sits...
Yesterday I had a melt down when the internet went down...and ate a rice crispy treat....then son # 3, my 18 year old came home while I was redeyed and painting and invited me to dinner...his treat...well...when your 18 yr old son invites you out...just the two of you...you DROP EVERYTHING and go....so i did, then we came back and watched a movie and it was JUST WHAT THE DR ORDERED.. ( if the internet had been working, I probably would have worked late into the night)....so I guess it was
a gift to me that it was not.....
Dinner..last night ...we went to our fav Mex rest...I had my standard little steak..BUT this time I DID have a margarita, and a corn tortilla and 6 chips and 2 bites of rice and two bites of beans...so I TOTALLY BLEW THE PROGRAM!!!!!!
Then I came home and had a cup of ice cream with the movie....so I TOTALLY, TOTALLY BLEW THE PROGRAM....so the idea was to get right back on track today....BUT...we ad a family brunch with my niece and her hubby, who were here visiting and are leaving today...and I did not like my omelet so i ate the potatoes and 1/2 piece of toast...so I have blown the program already today and tonight we have a birthday party to go to.....there will be margaritas i know, because we lent them our margarita maker...YIKES!!!! If i have any more carbs today...it may take me a week to recover....I need to work out for 60 minutes for the rest of week 6.
12:17 Home from the birthday party....had 1/4 cup pasta, 1/2 chicken breast..margarita AND CAKE......I am really in rebellion mode I guess....but it was fun and very yummy...tomorrow is a new day!!!!

Club 47 Friends....
I have just updated yesterday's eating...so check that post.
Yesterday was the official first day of week 6.....
The scale is holding....though I know I am still losing..pants are even looser...face, arms, etc thinner....seem to have hit plateau # 1. Though I knew it would happen , and more than once...it's a little discouraging. Tomorrow I begin Phase #2 of Dukan...where you alternate one pure protein day with one protein/veggie day....can't wait..have missed my veggies...
I did great with drinking fluids week 5 but slacked on eating several times a day....
need to pay great attention to that in week 6...walked 6 times in week 5...missed 2 days, but walked twice one of the days....
Now...Week 6 Goals
Again...in phase 2...alternating pure protein days with protein -veggie..this will be a challenge..have 2 parties....
* will walk 6 days of 7 ( have already missed yesterday..day 1)
*will either add time on to walks, or walk an additional time each day
( in a plateau..so gotta add something)
*post a $47.00 painting daily
*sketch daily
*MY New ONE..spend a TOTAL ( it can be in increments) of 47 min per day on cleaning" projects.....2 boys are leaving for college in 2 weeks.....lots to do....
I am a wreck today.....every time my mind stills for a second... i cry...it has been a big summer for us here in the Conrad home....Moved my Mom out...#1 son moved to San Francisco...to start his wonderful adult life in his dream job....#2 son moves back to college the 16th of August ..lots to do there....#3 son ...begins college....we move him on the 18th..lots and lots to do there.....I AM A WRECK...but HOLDING....I am so busy with work, that there is no time to dwell....but when I get a minute to think..I immediately tear up....I am having what my friend Cathy calls 10 second breakdowns...off and on all day!!!!Maybe I need to lock myself in my room for an evening and have a cryfest,,,WAIT...no time...can't work that in right now...HA!!!! I will have to settle for periodic 10 second breakdowns.....
11:00 a.m. on the road to move art....with my lunchbox of lunch meat...pepperoni rounds and a venti iced coffee......
1:49..that is NOW.. I will back up and have my breakfast of yogurt...
Check back later for my painting....
2:30 p.m. 5 oz Greek plain nonfat yogurt with splenda and 1 1/2 tablespoons oat bran....

9:23 p.m...I blew it tonight...got upset and went back to an old habit of eating my emotions...i ate 3 pieces of Texas Toast..60 carbs, after 6 days of pure protein..I am so mad at me!!!I will take an extra walk to try to burn some of it off and not have a setback..here's how the day went for food
9:30 a.m. 5 0z greek plain yogurt with 1 1 /2 tablespoons of oat bran..coffee

I also got on the scale this morning and it was up a pound.. in KNOW there is no way I have gained a pound..it is probably the sodium in the lunchmeat and pico de gallo the last few days...but still discouraging to see...but pants are looser every day.
Also. got hair colored today and she cut WAY too much off the back..argh!!!!!!!

Well, it is 1:11 a.m....so it is technically Monday, but I am just wrapping up my Sunday..I am exhausted......we were up all night Sat night as one of the boyz chose not to come come but did not call until 4:00 a.m. ..They just do not understand that even if they are technically adults....if we are expecting them home..we really don't rest until the ARE HOME!!!
It has been a brutal week for sleep...I am a bit sleep deprived at this point.
Today I did good with food and water....here's the scoop
10:30 a.m. Coffee (venti) and 5 0z Greek yogurt with splenda and 1 1/2 tablespoons of oat bran...I have begun to really like this, it feels like a treat...and it has 15 grams of protein!!
1:00.p.m.Roasted chicken ..one leg one thigh....20 oz water
3:00 p.m. 2 oz of leftover steak from last night with 2 tablespoons of pico de gallo
20 oz of water
6:30.p.m. 6 Slices of turkey deli meat ( the small thin round kind)with pico de gallo and 1/2 tsp guacamole /..rolled up..8 oz of water..I also had 2 Croutons...which are NOT on the program..but I was giving the dogs one ( they love them) and I was dying for something crunchy....
9:45 p.m....went for my 45 min power walk...20 os of water after..I think I will add 5 minutes on tomorrow..I have been doing 45 for awhile....foot is feeling good..no issues as long as I put on tennies as soon as I wake up..cannot go barefoot....
11:30 p.m.....again..6 slices of turkey deli meat with pico de gallo and guac...very yummy..16 oz of water....and yes...2 more croutons...you see...I never should have had the them first time....then it was easy to have them again...today was my 6th day of Pure protein...4 days left..then I get to bring back vegies....pants are super baggy..losing inches consistently...yeah....
1:25 a.m.drinking another glass of water now..I am really craving a Skinny Girl margarita...though they are low alcohol...NO ALCOHOL is allowed...I think I am craving the sweet but tart taste....heading to bed...

1:25 a.m.drinking another glass of water now..I am really craving a Skinny Girl margarita...though they are low alcohol...NO ALCOHOL is allowed...I think I am craving the sweet but tart taste....heading to bed...

Club 47ers.....
Today was not as great as the last few...
11:00a.m. 8 oz of iced tea, 5 oz of Greek nonfat plain yogurt (with 1/3 packet of splenda) and 1 1/2 tablespoons of oat bran.
11:45 a.m. small cup of coffee ( made a big one , just didn't drink much)
2:00 p.m. 6 slices of thin roasted chicken lunch meat with a little pico de gallo and a teaspoon of guacamole rolled up...16 of iced tea
7:30.p.m. Went to dinner with friends, I had a steak with a little pico de gallo and sour cream ( of course the sour cream was not nonfat....baaaad)and water.
I spent most of the day at my desk..ranting and raving at my computer as nothing seemed to go right....probably because it is SATURDAY and I should not have been at my desk!!!! I am trying to learn to make videos and use youtube,....it is always the simple things that trip me up...why is that????? Did a little painting this morning.I have NOT had enough to drink today...need to drink another 20-30 ounces before bed.
9:49.p.m. Have NOT had my power walk yet....I am fading..not sure it's gonna happen....
This is my video below (my very first one).....5:00 p.m.....still at my desk..hair never got combed...well, not until 6:30 when I showered to go out.I am listening to a tutorial on youtube ready to bash my computer in out of frustration...not really...but..yeah..kind of....needed some sillying up...I made up that word.... .. let's see if It works and can be seen...yes..I must be crazy to post this...but I have already bared my soul to my Club 47 Friends..I may as well unveil my uncombed hair and lack of makeup....by the way..I do have some vanity..I chose the Thermal effect on photo booth......as it seems to camouflage quite a bit...I also like the color pencil setting...oh..and pop art is fun ....
Just so you know........

Well, we know I cannot spell half the time..usually because I am in too much of a hurry...APPARENTLY, I cannot count either....yesterday was the beginning of week 5 of the Club 47 Challenge...NOT week 4!!!!
I am officially down 8 lbs total as of this morning...(since starting Club 47 ...had lost a couple before that) little behind schedule...but at least losing. I am also down a pant size...
10:00 a.m. 1/2 cup coffee and 50z Greek yogurt with 1 1/2 TBS of oat bran
12:30..20 oz iced tea
1:30 2 Hamburger patties with cream cheese spread on top (I WAS STARVING)
5:52.p.m. have not had enough to eat or drink today...not feeling great..was awake until 5:00 a.m. this morning...NOT working...just worrying about Life, and having an
ongoing dialogue with God....so many friends and family members are suffering in so many ways, and my heart is grieved.....I am at this place in my life where I want EVERY DAY to be more about someone else than it is about me....my question is"HOW DO YOU DO THAT WHEN YOU WORK 3 JOBS AND MUST WORK ALL OF THEM"?
I know God can use us right where we are, whatever our job....but as a Preachers kid, I grew up in a life of "traditional" ministry.....so though I get the opportunity to listen to and pray with and pray for beautiful people I meet daily in my current job..I struggle with feeling like I am not truly a SERVANT.... and yet...
I believe I am professionally right where God put me...and my family depends on these jobs...Anyway....that was the topic of my all night discussion...
Can anyone relate?? Please email me if you can...I need some perspective..... More later...need to eat...:)
7:30 p.m. Made a thin steak in the skillet and topped with red onion....it was yummy..had red meat twice today..rarely do that...but am a little tired of chicken and turkey...also had 16 oz of iced tea
10:51 had my 45 min power walk..yeah..proud of me..I am sooo tired today I wanted to skip it but didn't.....drinking another 20 oz water now..I am whipped...needed to get a lot of painting done tonight, but only did one 6x6...

1:04 a.m. It is actually Friday already......it's been a long, long work day, and I am just wrapping up... but wanted to give you my progress..
9:00 a.m.Coffee...no food..no appetite
10:00-1:00...Teaching a clinic...I usually have lunch when they do..but no appetite...too hot..I did drink a 20 oz bottle of water.....
1:30p.m. Three slices of thin turkey lunch meat rolled up with cream cheese inside...water
3:30p.m. Chicken salad from the deli at King soopers, and a venti iced coffee,(unsweet, of course)but I know the mayo in the chicken salad was of course not nonfat, and Dukan diet calls for nonfat.. well nonfat dairy..I'm sure mayo isn't even allowed in this phase.....(bad )....
6:00p.m. 5oz Greek nonfat plain yogurt with one Tablespoon of Oat Bran, and 20oz of water..that's another mandatory thing on the Dukan diet...you must have Oat Bran everyday...but I don't remember if it's supposed to be 1 1/2 teaspoons daily or tablespoons, will check that tomorrow...
9:15 p.m. 45 minute power walk...20 oz water
11:00 p.m. Snack while painting...this is one of the Dukan suggested snacks/meals that I said I'd share... 1 egg( i had 2)with tblsp nonfat milk... you stir and cook flat , round like a fritatta, then spread cream cheese on top, then spread ham, turkey, pastrami(whichever) on top, then roll it up...it's really good and filling.So..it was a pretty good first day of week 4..had enough water...got my walk in...it was my 4th day on phase one which is lean meat and nonfat dairy only....I am supposed to do 7-10 days on this phase, am trying to do 10...but really missing my vegies...so may switch at 7...in phase two...you alternate all protein days with protein-vegie days...
I will NOT get the 7 hours of sleep tonight as I have an early morning....but had a very productive work day..that always feels good....I have a little show in a new gallery the first Friday in August, and spent the last couple of hours basing canvas and doing background work..I am doing all new pieces for this show...small pieces, from 6x6 to 16x20.....most will be framed....9 days to paint and frame them before I have to hang them...YIKES!!!!

This morning I rec'd an email asking about my Crystal Light Smoothie...so here is the scoop...
I got one of those little individual shake makers from Walmart...Hamilton beach..14.99...but you could do it in a blender..I just don't have a blender.
I made a pitcher of Crystal light...BUT I added a little less water to make it a little stronger..poured it in the shake container..added ice cubes and Dannon Greek nonfat plain yogurt 5.3 oz container..and blended.
It is a little tart...but I think if I made a tray of Crystal light ice cubes....and used those instead of regular ice..it would be a little sweeter..as it wouldn't be so diluted..that is my plan. It makes a pretty larger smoothie, so I drank 1/2 then put the shake container in the fridge ( it has a lid), then the next day pulled it out, popped it attached it ti the maker, and hit the button to re blend. !! There are many flavors of Crytsal Light to choose from. Fellow Club 47 member suggested Tangerine Strawberry flavor...but I could not fine that at Walmart, I will look for it at the grocery store. You, of course, could add fruit etc. but in this phase of the Dukan diet..n fruit is allowed and only nonfat dairy...you could also add vanilla nonfat instead of plain..I think this would make it much sweeter..I may try that today!!
9:54.a.m.Did not sleep well last night..hubby kept me awake snoring..might have to have the second cup of coffee today!! Will finish a.m. correspondence, then plan to take a morning walk.I have a good recipe from the Dukan diet..will share it later. I did 24 min on the Lifecycle last night..did not walk..it was storming again..I do have a treadmill, but the cable down there is messed up and I HAVE to watch T.V. to work out...
12:00 p.m. Tuna and 20 oz of unsweet iced tea.....
2:00 p.m. med sized grilled chicken breast with cream cheese spread on top.
20 oz of water
4:00 p.m. 20 oz of water
7:00 p.m. I had a steak at my fav Mex Restaurant...with some chopped raw onion on top..NO Chips....No Margartita, rice or Beans... Yeah for me!!!! 2 glasses of water and half of a diet coke...I don't usually drink diet soft drinks, but in the absence of a Margarita...it felt like a treat.
9:15 Took a 45 minute power walk. kept the pace very fast...red faced and whipped by the end of the hill!! Then another 20 0z of water.
11:06.p.m. So.....Today is the end of week #4. I did weigh (though i was NOT supposed to) and I am down 2 more lbs...that is good..last week was tough and I didn't lose.( weighing was risky...i would have been super discouraged if I had not lost...)The first half of week of 4 was tough, but I feel I got back on track Monday and have had 3 really good days.I exercised 3 days....45 min, 24 min, 45 min...not nearly what i had planned....but i still lost..so YEAH..though water weight I am sure....
As I stated earlier, I have switched from a diet of lean meats and vegies with a few treats to the Dukan Diet from France. It is very similar...but has a long stabilization period after weight is lost..yo keep you from rebounding, and the whole idea is to reverse and heal metabolic issues , such as insulin issues, etc, which I have....phase one is the hardest...as it is lean meat and nonfat dairy only...no carbs at all ( 7-10 days for me)...then vegies are reintroduced. I read the book cover to cover, then did their online profile....they feel my "true weight" is about 18 lbs higher than my personal goal weight. It is very interesting...they ask things about bone size how many pregnancies, pre or post menopausal, age of course, what your younger set weight was....experience with yoyo dieting...etc , etc, then give you a # they feel based on the data is your True Weight...meaning the weight you can maintain easily and healthfully without ever having to diet again,
( unless of course you are a binge eater)....so they sent me back a note asking me to reconsider my goal weight...then gave me my personal plan....
They also have you start with less cardio, and increase it with each of the 4 phases....the point, I believe, is as we discussed before, as you get closer to your set weight, loss slows, and of course there are always plateaus...where you need t increase the cardio. Their preferred method of cardio is walking, for many reasons...
If I am going to stick with protein only for the 10 days..I have 7 left, but I have the option of only doing all protein for 7 days..we shall see...
Oh...they also INSIST ON A MINIMUM OF 1 1/2 QUARTS OF FLUIDS A DAY....
Here are my goals for week 5 which starts tomorrow.
*Walking 6 days...30-60 minutes each day
*TO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 1 1/2 QUARTS OF FLUIDS A DAY
* To post a 47.00 painting everyday of which $4.70 is donated
*to stick with the meat-nonfat dairy plan for 7 more days
*only one coffee a day ( though it is a venti....i used to have a few that size a day)
* to sleep 7 hours a night
*do do the isometric hold situps..daily...50-100.. i will not go back to the traditional situps due to my shoulder and neck issues

12:32 p.m.At my desk since 9:00 (with coffee)I AM GOING TO STOP AND HAVE LUNCH AND WALK!!! NO REALLY I AM....:)
3:28.p.m.I had a small baked chicken breast with a piece of cheese melted on top for lunch at 1:30 and 40 oz of water...yeah!!!! No walk yet stuck at desk..now gotta take a desk break to paint.....will walk later...REALLY!!!!!
8:18 p.m. Just spent 3 hours cleaning up a paint explosion mess....I dropped a giant tube of hot pink acrylic paint, then stepped back on it and it exploded all over my breakfast nook....rugs, wall paper, glass doors drapes....wood floors baseboards..dog kennels..what a drag...we were going to pull down that wall paper and put up something new......well that job is now a top priority!!!!
I had a piece of cheese for an afternoon snack with a few pepperoni rounds, and a ,lean beef patty with cream cheese for dinner...I have also had 60 oz of water today..yeah!!!!
So..I know I will have plenty of critics....but I was reading last night about the Dukan diet....big with a top DR in France...and it is similar to Atkins with a few exceptions...so I have decided to try to switch to that....phase one is 10 days ( if you have more than 50 lbs to lose) of only lean meat, fish, eggs and non fat dairy...so NOOOO carbs...at all....,the idea is to restructure your metabolic system if you have insulin issues,...which I do....
so I am going to try very hard to stick with it....phase 2 adds in veggies and grains...going out now for my walk!!!
9:39 p.m. Back from a 45 min power walk...had another 16 0z of water...

11:28.p.m. Yesterday, Thursday, was the first day of week 4....I did NOT work out...and did not eat well...did not work out or eat well today either....have been swamped with work this week, teaching clinics, transporting art and trying to catch up.(missed a lot of work last week with pain meds, etc) Last week was a big bummer with the shoulder, then foot....ate comfort food a few times, and missed 4 days of exercise....which made me eat worse... FOOT feels good tonight...I was at my desk most of the day so off of the foot.
It's time to get back on track....tomorrow is technically day 3 of week 4 already...so here are my goals for the rest of the week
*60 minutes of cardio all 5 days that are left
* 80 oz of water/tea
*only one coffee a day ( I did succeed in this goal last week)
*at least 7 hours of sleep a night(i did succeed here last week)
*eat 300 calorie meals 5 times a day
*sketch 5 days ( I did meet this goal last week)
*NOT to WEIGH ( i cheated and weighed last week....big mistake)
*to post a $47.00 painting every day(missed one day last week when internet was down)

6:31 p.m. well...BIG surprise...did NOT walk before teaching this morning....we were out of coffee...so I had to use that 20 min to run to Starbucks!!!:):)
Long day of teaching...then a bit of painting....just finished dinner..
Food Today....Granola Bar from Starbucks with coffee...10:30 a.m.
Smart Ones 200 Cal meal at 11:30 lunch break
2:30.p.m. McDonalds Cheeseburger and Wild Berry Smoothie...the drive through when I ran out to ship a painting between classes..Bad, Bad,Bad...but that smoothie was so yummy and cold and refreshing...have been teaching outside all day....
6:00 p.m. 2 small roasted chicken boneless thighs...1/2 cup mashed potatoes....
I think I have had enough calories today!!!!!! but ...not the healthiest ones!!!!
Still have to do desk work..cardio and more painting..shoulder is doing well..only a slight ache.....more later.....
8:33-Confession time...I didn't tell yesterday..as I could not imagine writing MORE DISCOURAGING STUFF!!!!! But...Monday..the first day my shoulder was better...hubby and I walked the dogs...and I stepped off the sidewalk and twisted my ankle...I thought it was okay.( it hurt a little)..but I rode the bike that night instead of walking to be safe...
well after my night of power cleaning and standing all day teaching it hurts and is now swollen..it is actually the inside of my foot that is the most swollen..not the ankle...it pulled that part of my foot when it twisted...I am NOT going to get discouraged...so you guys had better not either!!!!!It is really quite laughable....and par for the course right??? Everyone has set big goals and been very determined only to have one thing after another go wrong...we will press on my friends....right now I am pressing to my bed with an ice pack for my foot..but I am going to smile all the way up the stairs....and tomorrow is a NEW DAY!!!!!:):):)
Hugs to you all...and thank you for the wonderful emails as well as the sweet notes

9:58 p.m. Today was super busy...I was running most of the day to and from appointments.. had coffee this morning...but nothing to eat until 2:30 when I drove through McDonalds to get a small vanilla ice cream so I could take my pain med (which i forgot to take this morning and shoulder was really hurting).
At 3:30 I met a friend between appointments and had chicken salad from the King Soopers deli....it was totally Atkins..it was really good, and I had a big helping!!!! Also had a 20 oz iced tea....
At 6:00 p.m. I had an Atkins peanut butter cup and at 9:30 I had 2 scrabbled eggs with sauteed mushrooms and one ounce of cheese....and 20 ounces of iced tea.
So...got enough calories today I think ..not enough water....haven't worked out yet..shoulder is REALLY HURTING.....may try to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes....really don't feel well.....we will see...may just take pain meds and go to bed....

Club 47 Followers....LAST NIGHT AT THE END OF MY POST I RECAPPED WEEK #2....
Here Are my Goals for Week #3
1. at least 60 total minutes of cardio 4 days/ at least 30 total minutes 3 days
2. To have NO STRENGTH TRAINING GOAL UNTIL SHOULDER HEALS
3.Situps 6 days of 7
4. Eat AT LEAST 1200 CALORIES BUT NO MORE THAN 1600 (EACH DAY)
5.DRINK 80 OUNCES OF WATER/WEAK TEA A DAY
6.DRINK ONLY ONE COFFEE A DAY ( IT CAN BE A LARGE...BUT JUST ONE)
7. NOT TO WEIGH ( FOR 2 WEEKS)
8.SKETCH 5 DAYS OUT OF 7
9.PAINT AND POST A $47.00 PAINTING DAILY
10. SLEEP 7 HOURS A NIGHT
12:15 p.m.-After taking Darvocet to get through the night...I went to see my DR. early this morning...I have inflamed the bursa sac again ( the one where i had the torn rotator cuff)...so he gave me a steroid injection and said NO WEIGHT LIFTING...ONLY STRETCHING....so...I guess the weights are off my list for a bit.
He also read me the riot act about my eating....wants to see me "feeding" 6 times a day....small portions, of course, beginning early in the morning... I love my DR...he is wonderful and knows me well and is always honest no matter how painful!!!:) He also said NO RUNNING (which I already knew) and not to worry about the amount of time walking per say...but concentrate on distance...and increasing it....he said I won't see a great amount of
results doing less than 4 miles per day. I started with 2.5 ...to baby my bad feet....so I went from his office to get the Sketchers Shapeups walking tennies..several people have said they are awesome, and there is basically NO IMPact on your feet....but that they take some getting used to, as they change your gait and posture....so..I will try them..I will try anything at this point..
The word is to start with wearing them 15 min on day 1, then increase time..until you get used to them....Just walked the dogs in them..they are quite wierd....I will keep you posted!!
I had a Smart Ones 200 calorie meal (turkey & potatoes) at 11:30...and an Atkins reeses cup.....and a coffee before that....
8:20 p.m.- Just finished 20 min on the Lifecycle...going downstairs to paint..then will walk for 40 minutes...I had 2 oz of cheese at about 2:30, then a protein shake at 3:30..then a bowl of light soup with one oz of cheese at 6:00 and 8 baked chips... Have only had two glasses of tea and one glass of water...so need to drink a lot still....feeling a little loopy with the pain meds...mostly painting today...computer work is not fun when you are loopy..it's a bit nauseating!!
I bought yummy things to cook at the grocery store this morning, but have not felt well..no desire to cook...maybe tomorrow...
Oh..have actually worn the new tennies all day..love them....
11:51 p.m. Just finished cardio session #2...did 40 minutes switching between treadmill and eliptical....SO.. I GOT MY 60 MINUTES OF CARDIO IN TODAY IN SPITE OF THE SETBACKS.... I had to ..I had to get it right on day one of the new week ...
Had 2 more 20 oz iced tea/water,..SO i got my 80 ounces in..YEAH!!!!
I will NOT do the traditional situps until my shoulder calms down...but I will do the isometric situps & holds....which, by the way are very effective...so for those who have neck or back issues like me... There you go!!! I will do those in bed....
You sent me some wonderful emails today...and I so appreciate all of them..I think I answered them all....but Thank you AGAIN!!!!

I only had about 1000 calories....so I am short there...will do better tomorrow..will have meal one earlier....:)
I am gonna try hard for the 7 hours of sleep...so probably will not log on tomorrow until 9:00, since it is after midnight, and I am at my desk..

3:26 p.m. Fellow CLUB 47 members.....I hope you are doing better than me today!!!
I am sooooo sore and a little discouraged because of that....my feet which have been holding up fairly well are (right heel/bone spur) really hurting today,as is my right shoulder and arm ( the one I had the torn rotator cuff in years back).I used only 5 lbs in my tricep reps last night...but somehow I I hurt my shoulder...will have to really check my posture in the mirror next time. Today is the last day of week two...need 60 minutes of cardio.....I will recap the week on my post late tonight....
I had a leftover piece of fish (tilapia) at 12:30...and a piece of cheese this morning with the advil....not nearly enough calories yet for this late in the day..I think this weekend I need to marathon cook my good foods so that they are readily available..I just cannot seem to take the time during the day to fix anything
I began the day with coffee and 800 mg of Advil!!!!
I did get away from my desk for 2 hours to paint...now teaching from 4:00-5:00...more later!!:)
7:40 ..Had 1/2 cup pasta with meat sauce...at 6:30..NOT HUNGRY...in too much pain.....drinking iced coffee now....shoulder is killing me..cannot have anymore advil today......will not do chest , back & shoulders obviously...going to do first cardio session now.....yep ..thoroughly discouraged...gotta snap out of my pity party.... it's all relative, and relatively speaking...my life is awesome....Pity Party ends right now....more later...
10:57....Did 30 minutes on the lifecycle...that's it...can't do more tonight...went out and got icy hot cream and patches....I believe that pain in my shoulder/arm since last night... must be a pinched nerve, as it is now radiating into my hand and my hand is also pulling and wanting to ball up ....
Having an Atkins protein shake now....
Recap of the week......
Cardio---did 5 of 7 days for a total of 230 minutes....( 70, 35, 35, 60, 30)
The goal was 60,60,60,30,30,30,( so I am short 40 minutes)
(BUT YEAH FOR ME...LAST WEEK I ONLY DID 4 DAYS FOR A TOTAL OF 147 MIN)
Situps--did 47 plus 4 days of 7( the goal was 7 days...tummy hurt too much)
Strength did triceps , biceps legs, (did not do chest , back , shoulders...as I hurt my shoulder)
Eating----still not eating early enough in the day most days...and not enough calories most days...but did eat 3 times on 5 days and 4 times on 2 days...so I did improve there......I can tell I am losing inches......pants are looser still....
scale is only down 3.5 lbs...at then end of two weeks....which is frustrating..(BUT YEAH FOR ME!!!!).but I still am not eating enough, gotta eat more.....
Water intake..did better this week because I made my big pitcher of weak tea....
Painting..did paint daily and post my $47.00 painting
Sketching..goal was a sketch a day...only did 4 days
(YEAH FOR ME----4 DAYS MORE THAN LAST WEEK)
Tomorrow morning I will post my goals for week 3!!
Thank you yet again, and still for all of the encouraging emails....I am praying for everyone who has written me every day...that you will reach your goals and find joy in the journey....you really must CELEBRATE THE VICTORIES....NO MATTER HOW SMALL...
EVERY IMPROVEMENT IS A VICTORY....THERE ARE NO FAILURES...IT IS ALL A JOURNEY...THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE LEARNED FROM EVERY NON-VICTORY!!!!:):)

SOLD Already..Thanks JUDY!!!!Pink Art For the Cure, Abstracted Tulips IV, 12x12 ,$47.00,Painting #13 of the CLUB 47 CHALLENGE, Original abstracted Tulip Floral Paintings, by Colorado Abstract Artist Kimberly Conrad
This 12x12 Art for the Cure Painting was done in acrylic on 246 lb acrylic paper.I said I would post one larger piece each week on the CLUB 47 challenge, so this is the larger piece for week 2.$4.70 will be donated to Breast Cancer research. You can visit my Pink Art for the Cure site, http://artforbreastcancer.blogspot.com to see more PINK ART.

I spent a year, a few years ago painting almost nothing but tulips...and did some pieces like this in oil (which take forever to dry)..and some pieces in watercolor....this is an acrylic version, and I played with colors today, mixing everything so that nothing was straight from the tube...except, of course, the black outlining, which was originally done in purple, but it was completely lost once I filled the flowers and leaves in and added the palette knife work, so I had to then go over the purple in black and re work some things. It was a fun piece to do..I wanted to be outside, and my "poured" paintings are done inside over the concrete floor.
4:21 p.m. For the club 47 followers.....I had coffee st 10:30.....a bowl of light soup at 2:30 and have had two 45 calorie popsicles...and 2 glasses of iced tea....NOT hungry..it's too hot to eat....but ice cream sure sounds good!!!!!!Hmmmmm...I will have to think a little more about that!!! Will wait until about 8:30 to walk when it cools off a bit...gonna go paint some more!!
10:53 p.m. DID not WALK!!!!!! Painted until 7:00, then Hubby & I decided to grill steaks...then friends came over at 9:00 for games.....I has 3 ounces of steak, with mushrooms and a medium sized salad with lettuce , avocado, grape tomatoes, and poppyseed dressing....for dinner. Not bad...and still a lot of steak left for tomorrow!!!
Had a 4 oz skinny margarita and a piece of a pudding/fruit tart pie looking thing...VERY yummy but 350 calories...YIKES!!!!!
Considering it was technically a HOLIDAY..I'd say I did pretty well in total calories, carbs.....BUT...have put myself in the position of needing 60 min of cardio Tuesday and Wednesday ...Yikes again....hope you all had a wonderful 4th!!!!!!
Did not quite finish tomorrow's Club 47 painting yet..so will have to finish it in the morning and then post .....

12:12 p.m. For the CLUB 47 followers..in my 8:30 p.m. post last night we were heading to a friends home...we had a wonderful evening playing "Mexican Train"..of all things... its such a great game, because you can be very social, as it does not require much concentration...I had one of those petite desserts (from starbucks)
190 calories.....should have had NONE, but at least I only had ONE!!!!
Did not do a second cardio workout, as we got home at 11:30!!!.
I have to say....my jeans were much looser yesterday...the wonderful thing about cutting the extra refined carbs, is that you begin losing inches right away!!
A few more inches and I will have to go down a pant size..yeah!! Actually, I could go down now,,,but I don't like tight jeans...so I will wait until the smaller ones actually fit!!
Going out for my first walk now..then plan to PAINT a LOT today!!!!
11:23 p.m. Did NOT walk at noon...it was 98 degrees...OMG...way too hot...I walked
this evening for 35 minutes...my route with the big hill..it was a great workout.
I picked up a new heart rate monitor today...and boy...did I get quite a revelation....I had no idea that my target heart rate for working out (65-85% of max heart rate) was soooo different now that I am 46!!! Of course I KNOW...but I have truly not thought about that....every time I begin a program..I shoot for a heart rate of 160-180 like the "old Days" My friend/trainer made the comment that I may be working above 85%, (therefore in an anaerobic state as opposed to an aerobic state)....and that may be part of the reason I cannot lose. ( my resting heart rate is usually between 52 and 56..and still is according to my monitor..I have always had a low resting heart rate and very low blood pressure....The truth is....at my current age...my range to shoot for is 104-147, with 104 being the low...meaning I want to be at least there....and for fat burning....I really don't want to exceed 147. I have been working well above 147. So......I will be slowing it down...I worked with my new monitor tonight...and I was at 147 briskly walking the hill...so I really should not be running it!!!I am gong to be very diligent about wearing the monitor and staying within the limits and hope that it makes a big difference!!!
I did NOT eat enough today....i just was not hungry...it was soooo hot..I had a piece of lunch meat with 1/2 oz of cheese and 8 triscuits for lunch at 2:00. I basically made myself eat...thenI had a 45 calorie popsicle......at 4:30 I had a small vanilla cone from McDonalds..That was wonderful on this horribly hot day.....at 9:30 I had a big salad with butter leaf lettuce, grape tomatoes and avocado with poppy seed dressing .I did have 3 big glasses of my weak unsweet iced tea today and an iced coffee.
So...not quite enough food again..I really need to work on that tomorrow....I will do my situps before bed....THANKS for the wonderful supportive emails..keep them coming and know that I am praying for all of you that have written, that you will reach your goals as well!!!!
